 FAQs

  • At this time, I only accept Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Aetna and United Healthcare for patients in Louisiana. I will be licensed in Tennessee in 2024. Out of network benefits may apply.

  • Due to the nature of scheduling, 24-hour cancellation policy is required for all sessions. Please be mindful that if you are running late, we will still end on time. If you are more than 20 minutes late, the session will need to be canceled and you will be charged the full session fee. All payments must be received at time of session. A valid credit or debit card will be kept on file. Payment forms accepted are Cash, Check, Zelle, Venmo and Credit card (3.5% fee).

Sessions last 50 minutes long. They include a combination of talk therapy and strategizing using movement assessments and brain-based exercises to help you physically feel better.

  • Therapy helps you gain insight into yourself, develop coping skills, and find healthier ways to deal with challenges. Talking to a trained therapist is like having a guide who listens, supports you, and helps you make positive changes in your life. I strongly believe that we should teach versus treat. Teaching my clients about both their emotions and their physical reactions to those feelings helps them understand their unique brain, its impact on their body and mindset, and make changes and choices that bring long-lasting results.

  • Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility, and overall body awareness. Brain-based Pilates is a specialized form of Pilates that combines traditional Pilates exercises with principles from neuroscience. It focuses on the connection between the brain and body, specifically targeting the nervous system. Brain-based Pilates aims to improve brain-body coordination, enhance proprioception (awareness of body position), and optimize movement patterns. It incorporates exercises that challenge the brain's ability to control movement, such as balance exercises and coordination drills. By engaging the brain and body together, Brain-based Pilates can help improve overall movement quality, enhance cognitive function, and promote a stronger mind-body connection.

  • The law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and a psychotherapist. Information may not be disclosed without a signed consent to release of information form. There are a limited number of exceptions to this rule.

    Exceptions include:

    • If I have good reason to believe that you will harm another person, I must attempt to inform that person and warn them of your intentions. I must also contact the police and ask them to protect your intended victim.

    • If I have good reason to believe that you are abusing or neglecting a child or vulnerable adult, or if you give me information about someone else who is doing this, I must inform Child Protective Services and/or Adult Protective Services.

    • If I believe that you are in imminent danger of harming yourself, I may legally break confidentiality and call the police or the county crisis team.

    • I would explore all other options with you before I took this step. If at that point you were unwilling to take steps to guarantee your safety, I would call the crisis team.

    • If your record is subpoenaed in a court of law, I will do what I can to protect confidentiality within the limits of abiding by the law.Whenever possible, I would inform you if I have to put one of these into effect.
